THERAPY
Hyperbaric therapy, also known as mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT), is the therapeutic use of oxygen in a pressurized environment with a level greater than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA).

This non-invasive therapy is the most reliable way to increase the levels of oxygen transported in the blood to all organs of the body.
The typical treatment lasts 60-90 minutes, during which the patient is breathing normally in an isolated and dedicated environment.

It has been shown in several clinical studies that mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy enhances the body's innate ability to repair and regenerate itself . It is therefore used as an adjunctive therapy to supplement and enhance the healing process in both conditions chronic That sharp .

Hyperbaric treatment is based on the concept of the relationship between gas pressure and absorption in liquids (blood, plasma and tissues).

Placing a subject in a hyperbaric environment at a pressure of 7 psi induces an increase in the partial pressure on the oxygen gas, therefore, leads to more oxygen being dissolved in the equivalent amount of plasma. This saturation of oxygen in the blood allows a lot of extra oxygen to be carried and diffused into body tissues and internal organs, including the brain.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is designed to increase oxygen delivery to ischemic tissue or diseased tissue that normally responds well to increased oxygen levels. Increasing the volume of dissolved oxygen in blood plasma has five basic effects:

  • Reduction in the volume of gas bubbles in the blood
  • Vasoconstriction, which reduces edema and secondary hypoxia
  • Restoration of aerobic metabolism in ischemic tissue
  • Detoxification of poisoned tissues
  • Improved phagocytosis
The use of hyperbaric therapy is recommended for:
